My earliest memories are in front of the TV watching the 6 o’clock news with my grandparents. I’ve worked in video at both professional organizations and at my college publication. I have appeared on camera, produced broadcast-style packages and digital packages for social media.
As the Digital Managing Editor of The New Political I pitched “Vote 2017,” a series of seven videos explaining the issues on the local and state ballot. In collaboration with a small team, I wrote the scripts, hosted, edited and captioned all seven videos.
During my time as a fellow in the Ohio Statehouse News Bureau, I regularly shot video for air on the weekly public affairs program “The State of Ohio,” which is broadcast on all Ohio PBS stations. This is an example of an extended package I pitched, shot, edited and introduced on air.
In this three minute package, I took a ride on Nelsonville, Ohio’s historic Hocking Valley Scenic Railway to figure out what keeps the trains on the tracks over a century after they were laid.
While the nation reacted to Trump’s first few weeks in office, women in Columbus, Ohio mirrored those in the nation’s capital who marched against his administration. I shot and edited this video for WCPO.com’s social media platforms and website.

I designed and created this Instagram infographic for The New Political’s Instagram account to inform our audience about Ohio’s Issue 1 as part of the “Cast Your Vote” Voter’s Guide.
The increase in reported sexual assaults at Ohio University received national media attention. Students organized a rally and protest, and I shot this video on an iPhone, edited it and published for IGTV. Combined with other platforms, it received nearly 10,000 views.
